Within the glass and aluminium conservatory are extensive collections of azalea (90 varieties, usually in winter), lilies at Easter, cacti, citrus, and cycad (12 varieties of the survivor from prehistoric times); orchids year-round; 300 varieties of chrisanthemums in November; poinsettias in December. A permanent display of tropical and subtropical plants. There is also an exotic jungle and a tropical rain forest. From mid-May to September the summer terrace outside is glorious with hanging baskets and annuals, and the successive seasonal displays are a treat. Guided group tours by reservation Monday to Friday.
